President of Israel Highlights Unbreakable Alliance Between Israel and US in Response to Iran's Attack
Israel’s President Isaac Herzog emphasized the unwavering alliance between the United States and Israel during his recent appearance on CNN. He specifically highlighted the events of the past 24 hours, which showcased the strength of this alliance. Herzog referred to the Iranian drone and missile attack on Israel, which occurred shortly after a suspected Israeli strike in Syria that resulted in the deaths of two Iranian generals. Despite these challenges, Israel, alongside its coalition partners including the U.S., successfully neutralized 99% of the munitions.
While acknowledging that there may be differing opinions on various matters, Herzog stressed the importance of maintaining a dialogue between Israel and the United States. He recognized that Israel, as a small nation, has its own objectives, while the U.S. is a global superpower with its own interests. However, Herzog emphasized the necessity of open communication.
In reference to the Hamas attack on Israel in October and Israel’s subsequent response, Herzog conveyed the gravity of the situation. He described the perpetrators as an "empire of evil" and highlighted the horrific atrocities committed against Israeli citizens, including rape, butchery, burning, torture, and abductions. Herzog coined the term "Hamas-acre" to encapsulate the severity of the situation.
Herzog concluded by affirming Israel's close collaboration with the U.S. and other allies in addressing the ongoing situation in Gaza.
