Ukraine-Russia Conflict Update: Blinken Claims Putin is Rapidly Producing Rockets, Drones, and Tanks with Chinese Support
Vladimir Putin’s Russia is producing rockets, drones, and other weapons with assistance from China, according to Antony Blinken.
The US secretary of state mentioned that Beijing is supplying Moscow with “machine tools” and other necessary components to support Russia's weapons manufacturing.
Mr. Blinken stated that Russia would face difficulties in maintaining its offensive in Ukraine without China’s backing during his recent trip to Beijing.
He also emphasized that Beijing's backing of Russia poses a significant threat to European security, hindering the possibility of improved relations with Europe.
In a recent development, Ukraine has decided to remove its American-made Abrams battle tanks from the frontlines due to concerns about being easily targeted by Russian drones.
Kyiv has lost five out of the 31 Abrams tanks provided by the US to Russian attacks since October last year. Ukraine had been advocating for the importance of these tanks, each costing around $10 million, in breaching Russian defenses.
Furthermore, the US is set to announce an additional $6 billion in long-term military aid to Ukraine, which will include much-needed munitions for Patriot air defense systems, as per US officials.
