Zelensky Urges Acceleration of US Weapon Shipments to Halt Russian Advance

Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the importance of expediting weapons deliveries from the US, cautioning that advancing Russian troops are seeking to exploit Ukraine's lack of resources.

During a joint press briefing with Nato chief Jens Stoltenberg, Mr Zelensky stressed that the outcome on the battlefield is directly linked to the promptness of ammunition shipments to Ukraine.

"Swift assistance for our military. As of today, I have not seen any positive developments in this regard. While there have been some supplies, they have only just begun. This process must be accelerated," he remarked.

Last week, the United States approved a $61 billion aid package, putting an end to months of congressional gridlock and raising optimism in Kyiv that its critically low artillery ammunition reserves would soon be restocked.

On Sunday, Ukraine's top military commander disclosed that his forces had withdrawn from three villages in the east, and earlier today, Russian troops seized control of the village of Semenivka.

"The Russian military is currently seeking to exploit the situation while we await assistance from our allies... and that is precisely why the speed of deliveries is crucial in stabilizing the front line," Mr Zelensky stated.
